Lorong Karat Muo & Kopi-Kopi Malam

Here’s another interesting place to visit when in Muar. We’ve been meaning to visit this place for quite some time but never got around to it. Finally, we made it!

Lorong Karat Muo & Kopi Kopi Malam is located in the heart of Muar’s town. You can find it by searching for Butik Songkok Masood Hussin on Google Maps, and Lorong Karat is just behind the shop.

So, what is Lorong Karat? Lorong means back lane, and Karat means rusty in English. You could aptly describe this place as street or flea market.

Here, entrepreneurs and artisans of all ages gather to sell a wide array of items, ranging from new to used, collectibles, and antiques.

The market boasts an impressive collection of clothing and toys, truly embodying the essence of Lorong Karat.

Notably, the market isn’t just about goods, it’s also a haven for food enthusiasts. From coffee to a variety of delectable dishes. There’s even a Cendol vendor there!

The choice of location is excellent, with stunning murals adorning both sides of the lane, capturing the essence of Muar.

Bookmark this place and make it a point to visit the next time you’re in Muar. It’s family-friendly, and there’s even a sign indicating that smoking and vaping are not allowed inside.

Lorong Karat Muo & Kopi Kopi Malam is a weekly market that opens every Friday and Saturday from 6 PM to 12 AM. Pictures taken on December 15th, 2023. Around 6 PM to 8 PM. More pictures and Reels on Instagram.
