Melaka will host the World Tourism Day and Conference from September 27-29, 2025, marking a key milestone for the historic Malaysian city.

The event will gather over 3,000 participants, including tourism ministers, national tourism leaders, and global industry experts.

With the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation,” the event highlights the global shift towards sustainable tourism.

Melaka’s status as a UNESCO heritage city and its rich history were central to its selection. This aligns with Malaysia’s efforts to promote the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign.

The conference will showcase Melaka’s cultural heritage, historical sites, diverse cuisine, and iconic places of worship.

It is expected to boost the economy, as Malaysia plans to host over 156 international business events from 2024 to 2026, generating RM2.3 billion.
