Visited Pameran Animasi Malaysia at Muzium Negara on Saturday, 23 November 2024. That was yesterday, at the time of writing. It was my first time attending an exhibition of this kind. I mean exhibitions about animation. Or comics. This visit was a good start and surely won’t be the last.
I was excited. Maybe because I’m getting older and constantly find myself reminiscing about those carefree childhood days. I’m glad there were no iPhones back then. Comics, Dragon Ball, TV, and playing outside were our best friends.
And time flies. You get married. Have kids. Work. Go here and there. Then suddenly, you’re what. Almost 40? Damn. But as much as I miss those moments, growing older also makes me more thankful.
What motivated this visit was that urge to reconnect with the cartoons I grew up with. I wanted to know who created them. Their story. How and what inspired them to create them. In a way, I wanted to thank them. So, if you’re reading this, thank you.
Pameran Animasi Malaysia is organised by Animation Society of Malaysia (ANIMAS), Kementerian Perpaduan Negara, and Jabatan Muzium Negara. The exhibition is still ongoing. From 21 November to 31 January 2025. 9 AM to 5 PM. Entrance is free.
The easiest way to get to Muzium Negara is by MRT. There’s a dedicated stop called Muzium Negara. Not sure how or where to park if you go by car. The exhibition is located at Gallery 2. You will see signs guiding you there. Thank you for reading. More pictures on Instagram and happy visiting!
