Medan Selera Bentayan and the Nearby Jetty

One of our favourite spots for dinner and supper in Muar is Medan Selera Hentian Bentayan. Conveniently located near Muar Bus Terminal. Right across the road you’ll see KOPI434.

While I’m not entirely sure if Medan Selera Hentian Bentayan is the official name or what the locals call it, Google seems to think so. For consistency, we’ll use that name throughout this article.

Medan Selera Hentian Bentayan is an open-air food court with plenty of stalls offering a variety of delicious food. And they are reasonably priced. My wife loves Yong Tau Foo and Chicken Porridge. I like their Mee Bandung and juices.

The service is quick and efficient. All tables are numbered. So you simply tell the stall your table number and they’ll bring the food right to you.

These pictures were taken quite early. Around 4:30 to 5 PM. Just as the stalls were finishing their setups and before many visitors arrived. if you arrive after 6:30 PM, this place gets very crowded. And you might have to pray for a table!

Nearby is the picturesque Bentayan Jetty. A perfect spot to visit during sunset with a camera. You’ll be amazed by the view. If you’re lucky, you might even see fishermen arriving with their boats and unloading their catch.

That’s all for now. We’ll return soon to take more pictures when it’s busier. Especially some tasty shots of the food! Here’s the Google Maps to Medan Selera Hentian Bentayan. More pictures on Instagram.
