We visited Kraf Hanis Labu Sayong a few weeks ago, and what an amazing visit it was! We were incredibly grateful that the owners of Kraf Hanis were very friendly and willing to answer our questions during the visit.
Kraf Hanis is a family-owned business located in the village of Sayong. It was established in 2000 by Ms Hanis’s father, Mr Mohd Nasir. However, Ms Hanis took over the business in 2013 and is now the current owner.
Today, Kraf Hanis is managed by Ms Hanis, her husband Haris, and their helper, Aunt Zaleha. Hanis is in charge of marketing, while Haris oversees the production aspect with assistance from Aunt Zaleha.
Kraf Hanis is divided into two sections. One section showcases all the beautifully crafted labu sayong available for purchase. Visitors can come and buy these exquisite labu sayong. The other section houses the production site where these labu sayong are made.
During our visit, Mr Haris kindly walked us through the production site, explaining each step involved in making the labu sayong from start to finish. It was an incredibly educational experience, and we extend our gratitude to Mr Haris for taking the time to show us.
Not to forget, when we arrived, Aunt Zaleha was diligently trimming some labu sayong. We had the opportunity to capture a few pictures of her at work, and it was truly therapeutic to witness her skilfully shaping those labu sayong.
We would highly recommend visiting Kraf Hanis if you are interested in learning more about labu sayong or simply want to purchase a beautiful piece of handcrafted pottery.
You can find their location by searching “Kraf Hanis (Mehans Enterprise)” on Google Maps.
Kraf Hanis offers an extensive selection of labu sayong in a variety of sizes, colours, and styles, catering to diverse preferences and needs. You’re sure to find something to suit your taste at Kraf Hanis.
