We revisited Jonker Street Night Market and its surrounding areas last weekend. On our previous visit, the market was at its peak—full of visitors and buzzing with activity.

This time, we arrived just as vendors were setting up, pushing their carts, and getting ready to open. It was a great experience.

We stopped by a cendol shop and enjoyed a delicious pandan cake and, of course, some cendol! Can’t remember the shop’s name though, but if you’re there, look for a green shop right in front of Kopi Harian. That’s the one!

The new car-free zone initiative in Melaka made this visit even more enjoyable. We applaud the MBMB City Council for this effort! So, every Friday to Sunday, from 6:00 PM to midnight, the roads of Jalan Istana, Jalan Mahkamah, Jalan Gereja, Lorong Gereja, Jalan Laksamana, and parts of Jalan Tun Khalil Yaakob and Jalan Merdeka are closed to vehicles. How awesome is that?

Wondering where to park since no cars are allowed inside? We parked near Muzium Kastam. From there, we walked to Jonker Street. It’s not too far. Okay, maybe a bit far. But hey, what’s a holiday without a little walking, right? More pictures on Instagram.
